Homeshare UK is hosting two virtual events to help shape the future of Homeshare in the North East and North West.
There are currently no Homeshare programmes in the North East/North West, however, we are now in a position to develop services within the area. We are inviting individuals and organisations based in either Liverpool or Newcastle and their surrounding areas to attend our online events in April, who are interested in learning more about the Homeshare model.
These hallmarks events will share the findings of our initial research within the region in relation to housing and social care and to consider further ideas or questions for Homeshare UK.
Homeshare, matches people together for mutual benefit; typically, an older person looking for practical support to continue living independently, shares their home with someone looking for good quality affordable accommodation. Both the Householder and Homesharer equally benefit from the companionship and having a friendly face at home. Typically, 10 hours per week of practical support are provided by the Homesharer such as shopping, cooking, cleaning, gardening or even playing a game, but no personal care is involved.
If you are an organisation or might be interested in becoming a Householder or Homesharer, (or you are a friend/family member of someone who might be) – and are based in either Liverpool or Newcastle, sign up to our online events.
